The planned anime adaptation of the manga series 'Champignon no Majo' (English Champignon Witch) has attracted attention with the release of first preview images. The series tells the story of a lonely witch whose encounters change her life.

The story follows Luna, a witch who lives isolated in a forest populated by poisonous mushrooms. Due to her unwanted ability to make poisonous mushrooms grow wherever she goes or stays, she is feared and avoided by the population. Although she is notorious as an ominous black witch in a kingdom ruled by white witches, Luna is of gentle and helpful character. Her everyday life is characterized by the research of mushrooms and the production of medicine, with which she helps others, even if this often happens from a distance.

Production and Team

The responsibility for the animation is borne by the studios Typhoon Graphics and Qzil.la. Direction is by Yōsuke Kubo, while Yūko Kakihara is responsible for the series composition. The music is composed by Takeshi Hama. The theme songs are the opening song 'Maho Tsukai no Nikki' (approximately: 'The Diary of the Wizard'), sung by ROSU, and the ending song 'Kimi wa' (approximately: 'You Are'), performed by Ms.OOJA.
