Character PV for protagonist Ichitaro from anime "Shabake" released

For the anime adaptation of "Shabake" (English: The Den of Beasts), starting in October 2025 and based on the novels by Megumi Hatakenaka, a character PV for the protagonist Ichitaro has been presented.

The plot of the series follows the sickly young master Ichitaro, who lives in the Edo period and is supported by supernatural beings, the Yōkai, while he deals with the mysterious and eerie incidents that occur in the city11. The newly released character PV combines excerpts from the Opening Theme "Inochi no Parade" (approximately: "Parade of Life"), sung by Kujira, with dialogues and scenes showing Ichitaro.

Prior to the broadcast, a special programming is planned for September 9, during which new information about the production is to be revealed11. Further details about this program will be announced at a later date.

The animated adaptation is being directed by Takahiro Okawa at BN Pictures. The script and series composition are handled by Dokoko Machida.
