During the spring break, Ayanokouji meets Shiina, who gives him a book. Their encounter coincides with Kei's arrival, who leaves angrily when Ayanokouji pretends to have forgotten why he called her.

Ishizaki and Ibuki try to persuade Ayanokouji to join their class, but he refuses, seeing Ryuuen more as an opponent than an ally. Meanwhile, Honami, standing in the rain, is invited by Ayanokouji to dry off. He convinces her to fully commit herself in the coming year but warns her of potential consequences if she fails.

Ayanokouji arranges a meeting with Ryuuen in a refrigerated warehouse and reflects on a past confrontation. Ryuuen is skeptical about Ayanokouji's defeat against Sakayanagi and hints at unseen factors. A failed surprise attack by Ryuuen prompts Ayanokouji to point out his potential and caution.

In a restaurant after Kei leaves, Satou shares her suspicion about Ayanokouji's feelings for Kei with Matsushita and another friend. Ayanokouji maintains his desire for discretion, though Matsushita encourages him to fully commit to Class A.

Matsushita questions Ayanokouji about his relationship with Kei, leading to further introspection. Meanwhile, Suzune pressures Ayanokouji to excel in the exams, making participation in the student council a condition for success.

Kei visits Ayanokouji and expresses frustration over alleged relationship rumors. This is followed by Ayanokouji's confession and his proposal to date Kei, revealing his motives tied to personal growth and understanding romance. Despite his analytical approach, it is hinted that Ayanokouji questions the outcome of his emotional investment.
