Clevatess - Episode 3: The Duty of the Heroine

After her fall into the mine shaft, Alicia is severely injured and paralyzed. Clevatess appears in a small, ichor-based form and explains the mechanism of his dark ichor: It keeps Alicia alive; a complete loss would mean her death, but as long as she remains useful, he can restore her. Clevatess reports on his unsuccessful recruitment of Nell as Luna’s wet nurse – despite her painful life as a slave, Nell refused. At Alicia’s remark that Nell’s decision was due to the brutality and control of the bandits, Clevatess issues the command: Alicia is to destroy the Ravens to enable Nell’s escape without revealing his own identity.

Meanwhile, Alicia’s bones begin to painfully regenerate under Clevatess’ influence. The returning bandits Dagarn and Satch attempt to overpower the weakened Alicia to learn the whereabouts of the Regalia. Despite her injuries, Alicia uses her combat experience and superhuman regeneration to take out several bandits. In parallel, the slave Carme confronts Nell about her interest in the outside world. Bandit leader Vroko lures Nell under a pretext into a remote mine tunnel, declares her "betrayal," and orders his controlled troll "Betty" to eat her.

Klen arrives just in time with Luna at the scene. He frees the severely injured but still alive Nell from Betty’s stomach and neutralizes the stomach acid. Vroko, alarmed by Klen’s abilities, attacks him with his self-developed "magic" – an Arcanacit powder for controlling dark beasts – and deploys the troll again. Meanwhile, Alicia is cornered by the bandits at the shaft’s scaffolding. Exhausted and outnumbered, she deliberately destroys the scaffolding, causing several bandits to fall into the lake infested with Arvensis (water dark beasts). In a desperate act, Alicia jumps into the water herself to retrieve Khordhwar’s legendary Regalia "Stream Splitter" from the depths – knowing that Clevatess’ ichor will save her from drowning.
