On Monday, a first glimpse of the film's second half was revealed, giving fans a taste of what to expect. The second part will officially debut in Japanese theaters on June 23. However, the premiere isn't the only treat awaiting moviegoers, as they will also receive a specially designed story booklet featuring text by Reiko Shima.

The first half of the film was released on May 26 and was well-received, securing the top spot in the mini-theater rankings during its opening weekend.

The anime is directed by Hiroshi Watanabe from Studio DEEN, with Sayaka Harada handling composition. The characters, based on Mai Hanamura's original designs, were adapted by Yukiko Ban, while Masaru Yokoyama provides the music. Avex Pictures serves as both the music producer and distributor for the film.

The original voice cast from the game reprise their roles in the adaptation, including talents such as Masakazu Morita, Yuuki Kaji, Sōma Saitō, and Daisuke Namikawa, among others. New additions to the cast include Kaede Hondo as the heroine Ichika Hoshino and Katsuyuki Konishi as the original character Mitsuru Sowa.

The film adaptation revolves around an "alternate incident," a story that unfolds on the "other side" of the X-Day incident from the original game. The game's plot centers around a brutal terrorist attack in which the protagonist receives a deadly souvenir—a poisonous collar that threatens their life.
