Conclusion and Side Film: New Anime Projects for "Kaijuu 8-gou" Announced

Two new animated productions have been confirmed for the anime franchise of "Kaijuu 8-gou" (English title: Kaiju No. 8). The announcement includes a concluding film for the main series as well as a standalone short film.

The plot of the series, based on the manga by Matsumoto Naoya, is set in a Japan that is considered the "Monster Nation" due to its high monster appearance rate. It follows the protagonist Hibino Kafka, who, after a decisive event, pursues his long-held dream of joining the Japanese Defense Forces with renewed vigor.

The central project is the production of a concluding film, which will bring the animated adaptation of the story to an end. This decision follows the already aired first and second seasons of the television series, which were released in the years 2024 and 2025.

A specially designed key visual and a corresponding promotional trailer were released for the announcement.
