A second part of the anime adaptation of the light novel series Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games Is Tough for Mobs (jap. Otomegē Sekai wa Mobu ni Kibishii Sekai Desu) has been announced for the year 2026. A first visual as well as information on the production team are already available.
The series is based on the light novel series of the same name by author Yomu Mishima, which was initially published as a web novel. The story follows Leon, an office worker, who is reborn after his death into the world of a dating simulator forced upon him by his sister. In this female-dominated kingdom, he uses his detailed knowledge from his previous life to survive as a simple background character, a so-called "mob," and change his fate.
The direction of the second season is once again handled by Kazuya Miura. The screenplay continues to be written by Kenta Ihara, and the character design is by Masahiko Suzuki. A large part of the voice cast from the first season will reprise their roles. This includes, among others, Takeo Ōtsuka as the protagonist Leon as well as Kana Ichinose as Olivia and Fairouz Ai as Angelica.
The first season of the anime adaptation aired in April 2022. The underlying light novel series was published in thirteen volumes between 2018 and 2024. A manga adaptation of the story exists in parallel.
The continuation is produced by the animation studio ENGI. Further details regarding the specific plot of the new episodes or the exact release date within the year 2026 have not yet been announced.
