The production of a second season of the anime series "A Wild Last Boss Appeared!" (Japanese title: Yasei no Rasu Bosu ga Arawareta!) has been officially announced. The announcement was made following the broadcast of the final episode of the first season and was supported by a specially produced video offering first glimpses into the upcoming plot.

The series' plot is based on a popular light novel series by author Firehead and illustrator YahaKo. It tells the story of Lufas Maphaahl, the former player character of an online role-playing game, who finds himself in the game world 200 years after his defeat – now, however, in the role of his own, feared avatar. In the first season, Lufas, accompanied by her advisor Dina, set out to search for her former followers, the "Twelve Heavenly Stars" (Japanese Hado Jūniseiten), to confront a threat from a demon tribe. The franchise has proven successful with a total circulation of over 1.4 million copies of the light novels and manga.

The video released on the occasion of the announcement focuses on the future development of the story. It shows that Lufas and her allies will continue to get to the bottom of the true motives of the goddess Alovenus in the second season. A central visual element of the video are the "Twelve Heavenly Stars," who appear in a new formation. This group, whose members are named after the zodiac signs, will be supplemented by additional characters in the upcoming season.
