A new story arc for the anime adaptation of the light novel series "The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen: From Villainess to Savior" (jap. Higeki no Genkyō to naru Saikyō Gedō Last Boss Joō wa Min no tame ni Tsukushimasu) has been announced. The second production season is scheduled to start in April.
The expanded cast for the upcoming episodes includes Shinnosuke Tachibana in the role of Leon and Hikaru Midorikawa as Cedric. Among the performers returning from the first season are Haruka Tomatsu (Tiara), Junya Enoki (Arthur), and Junichi Suwabe (Val). The voice acting for the character Stale at his age of 15 will henceforth be taken over by Kōki Uchiyama.
The artistic direction remains largely unchanged. Director Norio Nitta and writer Deko Akao, responsible for the scripts, continue their work on the project. The animation work is once again handled by OLM Team Yoshioka. The production team also released a first video providing visual impressions of the new episodes.
The story follows Pride Royal Ivy, who at the age of eight regains the memories of her previous life. She realizes that she has been reborn into the world of an otome game, where she was originally destined to be the tyrannical queen and final boss. Determined to escape this fateful and tragic path, she uses her foreknowledge to change her behavior and strive for a better future for her kingdom.
The first season of the anime series aired in July 2023. The underlying light novel was originally written by Tenichi and began its publication in 2018.
