Crunchyroll has quietly revised the trailer for the upcoming film "Solo Leveling: Beyond the System," removing a reference to a third season. The move came after the original version of the trailer caused confusion among fans.

In the initial version, the project was still referred to as "Solo Leveling S3 – The Movie." This wording led many viewers to wonder whether the film marked the beginning of the third season, was connected to it in another form, or was even meant to replace it. The confusion was further heightened by the fact that rights holder D&C Media had confirmed a third season of the series in a document addressed to investors just a few weeks earlier, without mentioning a film at all.

Crunchyroll has now completely removed the "S3" addition from the trailer. The film now officially bears the title "Solo Leveling: Beyond the System" and is marketed solely as "Solo Leveling – The Movie." The film was announced on July 3, 2026, as part of the Crunchyroll Showcase at Anime Expo. It is a theatrical film that seamlessly continues the story from the end of the second season. It is being produced by Studio A-1 Pictures, with Crunchyroll, Aniplex, Netmarble, D&C Media, and Kakao Piccoma serving as co-producers. A first companion concept video was also shown.

The theatrical release is planned for 2027, with an exact date yet to be announced. Despite the film project, work on a third season continues. Crunchyroll CEO Rahul Purini confirmed in an interview with Radio Times that production of the next chapter is actively progressing at A-1 Pictures. He stated that they are just as excited as the fans and hope to announce more soon. Industry observers estimate a possible release window between 2027 and 2028.

The first two seasons of "Solo Leveling" are currently available in full on Crunchyroll, as well as on DVD and Blu-ray.
