Crunchyroll to air anime adaptation of Wookjakga's webcomic in October

Crunchyroll recently released a trailer for the upcoming anime adaptation of the Korean webcomic "A Returner's Magic Should Be Special" (or "Kikansha no Mahō wa Tokubetsu Desu" in Japanese) by Wookjakga. The trailer reveals additional details about the cast and crew and confirms the anime's premiere in October 2023.



The story of "A Returner's Magic Should Be Special" follows Desir Herman, a magician who is sent back 13 years into the past when faced with a seemingly inevitable end. With this newfound chance to alter the course of events, he is determined to prevent the impending catastrophe that awaits the world.

For the upcoming adaptation, voice actors Sayumi Suzushiro and Natsumi Fujiwara have been cast as Romantica Eru and Pram Schnaizer, respectively. These new additions complement the existing cast, which includes Takuma Terashima as the protagonist Desir Herman.

The adaptation is being produced by Arvo Animation under the direction of Taichi Kawaguchi. Takamitsu Kouno is in charge of scriptwriting and supervision, while Hiromi Kato is responsible for character design. Other key contributors include Eiji Iwase as art director, Masahiro Kama as art assistant, and Kenta Higashiohji, who is composing the music. The audio aspects of the series are handled by sound director Takatoshi Hamano and sound effects supervisor Yasumasa Koyama. The band FLOW has been enlisted to perform the anime's opening theme song, titled "Get Back."
