After Prince Lloyd convinced the angel Jihriel to grant his group (Galilea, Talia, Crow) access to divine magic, the team travels to Saloum's capital to investigate ghoul sightings. During a pancake visit with Escher and Princess Saria, they learn of frequent attacks at the Great-Daen Bridge, the northern cemetery, and southern alleys – as well as missing adventurers. Lloyd identifies the ghoul hideout in the sewer system beneath the bridge, where they encounter the missing fighter Tao.

Lloyd's cleansing spell "Helios" not only purifies the contaminated tunnels but also activates Tao's Qi-sensing ability. Tao initiates a competition with Sylpha and Ren: Whoever defeats the most ghouls using Lloyd's Luxa energy weapons earns a day with Lloyd. While Sylpha and Tao rival each other (each achieves 23 ghoul eliminations), Lloyd uses the battle for research: He dynamically modifies the weapons – reinforcing Sylpha's sword against breaks and developing a divine poison variant for Ren that consumes ghouls "like Poison."

Meanwhile, the mysterious pastor in the church basement observes the intruders. He plans heightened security for the upcoming "Great Advent Festival," where Escher and Saria are to appear before the king and pope. The episode ends with an ominous confrontation: Escher encounters the pastor and a wraith called "Civil War" in the basement – while Lloyd's group, now with optimized divine magic, neutralizes the final ghoul threat.
