Episode 18 of Dainanaoji (Season 2) deepens the investigation of the mysterious pastor and reveals the shocking secrets beneath the church. After Babylon is severely injured, Lloyd and Escher succeed together in saving him through teleportation magic and divine healing arts. The group discovers a hidden cellar beneath the church, which serves as an alchemical laboratory. Here they find clues about synthetic experiments in which living beings and humans were combined into chimeras, similar to the ghouls they previously fought.

In the laboratory, the group encounters Lami, a woman who has been half-transformed into a lamia. Through Escher's persistent singing, which comforted Lami for years, her consciousness is restored. Lami reveals that the pastor harbors a hatred for the gods and confirms that the laboratory was part of his research into creating chimeras. A golden rosary, which Lami finds, suggests that the pastor could be one of the twelve bishops of the central church, as only they are permitted to wear such insignia.

Lloyd hands over the laboratory's research data to Lami so she can reverse her transformation. At the same time, the group plans to use the Great Advent Festival to identify the pastor and protect the pope. The episode ends with the realization that the pastor may have already infiltrated the highest ranks of the church.
