Episode 22 of Dainanaoji (Season 2) focuses on the confrontation with the SS-rank Chimera "Black Dragon," which threatens the city and puts numerous civilians in danger. Crow pushes his powers to the limit to protect the population, which almost costs him his life. Bishop Batts desperately tries to protect him, while the battles against the Chimera escalate.

In parallel, Lloyd analyzes Guitane's abilities and realizes that his Luxa magic is based on a self-defined purification logic that does not correspond to divine standards. Lloyd identifies weaknesses in Guitane's magic, including the limitation to three simultaneously active symbols and the need for adaptation time.

Sylpha and Tao rush to Crow's aid and fight against the Black Dragon, which turns out to be a Chimera with transplanted body parts and a complex past. The dragon reveals that it was manipulated by Guitane, and finally finds fulfillment in a proud, dragon-typical death. Grim (in his disguised form "Grimtaro") and Jihriel arrive to support the group and heal Crow.

The episode ends with preparations for the final battle against Guitane in the clouds, while the city is temporarily secured.
