In Episode 23 of Dainanaoji (Season 2), the final conflict between Lloyd and Guitane escalates in the air, while new threats emerge on the ground. Guitane reveals that he has dropped ten S-rank chimeras – his "Ten Commandments" – onto the city to destroy the kingdom and shake its religious foundation. Lloyd attempts to intercept the eggs with Shadow Wolf, but is prevented by Guitane, who demonstrates his superior mana control.

On the ground, allies such as Tao, Sylpha, Babylon, and the bishops fight against the powerful chimeras and desperately evacuate civilians. The situation seems hopeless until Escher and Saria intervene with their singing. Escher's Boundless Innocence Luxa amplification calms the population and temporarily paralyzes even the chimeras, giving Lloyd the opportunity to eliminate several chimeras from a distance.

During the battle, Guitane reflects on his past: His family was killed out of hunger, which destroyed his belief in divine justice and led him to the conviction that pure intention (such as hunger) can justify any action, making him the "Saint of Darkness". Lloyd appears unimpressed by Guitane's monologue and counters with an overwhelming demonstration of his magical abilities, including invisible and hyper-accelerated spells such as Celero Cascadia and Kryptis Incinis. He even breaks through Guitane's Spinal Shield defense, which is based on Civil War's threads, with his Mana Focus: Seven Goddesses technique.

The episode culminates with Lloyd wanting to test Guitane's theory that his heart is invulnerable, and ends with a Glow spell. The preview for Episode 24, "In the Light", suggests a decisive turn in this final duel.
