The TV anime "Kimi wo Aisuru Ki wa Nai" to Itta Jiki Koushaku-sama ga Nazeka Dekiai shitekimasu (abbreviated as "Kimiai") has announced two additional prominent voices for the parents of the protagonist. Daisuke Namikawa will voice Lucas Eukrainen, the father of Elsa and Hannes, and Mariko Kouda takes on the role of the mother, Sofia Eukrainen. Both characters come from an impoverished branch of the former royal family and, despite their modest circumstances, lead a warm and loving marriage. Lucas is known for being generous and calm, while Sofia always maintains a smile and watches over the family. Together, they raised their children with great affection. According to tradition, the two married after an arranged meeting and cherished a music box, which Sofia later passed on to Elsa for her wedding.

The series will air from July 2026 on TV Asahi and BS Asahi. In the production of this "muzukyun" heart-throbbing comedy—a portmanteau of "difficult" and "kyun" for heart-pounding—Hitoyuki Matsui directs, while Kaoru Suzuki handles the direction design. The series composition is by Tomoko Konparu, character design by Yuko Yahiro, music by Michiru, and sound production by Saber Links. The animation is produced by the studio alliance Zero-G and Glass under the umbrella of the Kimiai Production Committee.

The story revolves around the impoverished noblewoman Elsa Eukrainen, who remains cheerful and optimistic despite her situation. Her life changes dramatically when the highly gifted but emotionally awkward next duke, Julius Royus, proposes to her. Out of pure pragmatism, the two enter into a contract marriage on the same day. Julius coldly states that he has no intention of loving her, but Elsa's sincere warmth gradually melts his heart. Previously, the main cast was revealed with Yui Ishikawa as Elsa and Soma Saito as Julius, along with numerous supporting roles: Jarmo Parnilla (Kaito Ishikawa), Serafiina Parnilla (Chika Anzai), Rebeka Rikkonen (Hibiku Yamamura), Hannes Eukrainen (Junya Enoki), Crown Prince Aleksis Josef Ralt (Ryohei Kimura), and Jere Ekrous (Ryota Suzuki).

Daisuke Namikawa is well-known among anime fans primarily as Shota Kazehaya from "Kimi ni Todoke" and as Toru Oikawa from "Haikyuu!!". Mariko Kouda has been heard in works such as "Marmalade Boy" and "Mamotte Shugogetten". With the addition of this duo, the adaptation promises a portrayal of the parent characters that is both heartwarming and humorous.
