"Daiya no A actII": New Season with Toshiya Miyata (Kis-My-Ft2) as Koji Chimaru

Further details have been announced for the upcoming second season of the anime continuation "Daiya no A actII". As the producers have now announced, Toshiya Miyata, a member of the popular boy group Kis-My-Ft2, will join the voice cast. He will take on the role of Koji Chimaru from Munemitsu Oga High School. Additionally, a second promotional video and the title music for the new season have been released.

The new season, titled "Daiya no A actII -Second Season-", will premiere on April 4, 2026, on Japanese television. It continues the story of high school pitcher Eijun Sawamura and his team, Seido High School. Chimaru, voiced by Miyata, is a third-year student at Munemitsu Oga High School who was originally active as a relief pitcher but switched to the outfield due to mental weaknesses. Despite these challenges, he holds the first spot in his team's batting order.

The second trailer provides insights into the plot of the new season, which shows the teams participating in the qualifying tournament for the Tokyo National High School Championships. Rivals such as Inashiro Industrial, Munemitsu Oga, and Yakushi High School are seen facing off against the Seido team led by the new ace, Eijun Sawamura.

Two acts are responsible for the season's musical accompaniment: The opening "Let's Go Crazy" is contributed by singer-songwriter Baby Canta, while the boy group SUPER★DRAGON provides the ending song "NUMBER". Excerpts from both songs can already be heard in the new trailer.

In initial comments, Miyata expressed his delight about his role: "I was really happy when I found out I could play Koji Chimaru. At the same time, the pressure of being part of this outstanding cast was enormous. I would be pleased if my participation in this work, which is set in the heart of youth, could contribute a part to the youth of the viewers." Baby Canta and SUPER★DRAGON also expressed their excitement about their contribution to the popular series.

The new season is directed by Hideaki Oba, while Kenji Konuta is responsible for series composition. The character design is by Yasukazu Shoji and the music is by Hajime Hyakkoku. The animation production, as with the first ActII season, is handled by OLM.
