In "DanMachi IV: Episode 1," the Hestia Familia, now renowned for their recent achievements, embarks on a new adventure. Following their triumph in the Battle of Knossos and their interactions with the Xenos, Bell Cranel has reached Level 4, elevating the status of his group. They receive an official mission to break their previous records in dungeon exploration and collecting specific items. This mission is unique, as there are no limits, and the team can delve as deep into the dungeon as they desire.

To tackle this challenge, the Hestia Familia has assembled an impressive team. The core members include Bell, Lili, Welf, Mikoto, and Haruhime. They are joined by Daphne and Cassandra from the former Apollo Familia, now part of the Miach Familia, Aisha from the former Ishtar Familia, as well as Chigusa and Ouka from the Takemikazuchi Familia. Lili takes on a dual role as both a supporter and strategist, while Bell dedicates himself to studies at the Guild. Meanwhile, Eina, a Guild employee, discovers that she harbors strong feelings for Bell.

As the team prepares, their respective gods and goddesses gather at a tavern to reflect on the growth and abilities of their followers, particularly Bell, who has evolved compared to his earlier, more inexperienced self. On the morning of their departure, Welf presents Ouka with a finely crafted axe and Bell with a dagger made from unicorn horn, called Hakugen.

The ten-member group enters the dungeon, each showcasing their individual skills and the group's shared coordination and teamwork. Bell impresses everyone with the enhanced power of his Firebolt, a testament to his increased level.
