In Episode 8 of DanMachi IV, Bell joins Bors' group as they descend to the 27th floor. His abilities as a Level 4 adventurer are put to the test as he faces a Lead Man and other terrifying foes. During the descent, Bell learns that some members of the group understand Ryuu's motives—to take revenge on those responsible for her family's downfall—but the bounty placed on her remains their primary concern.

Bell seizes the opportunity and separates from the group to investigate the source of a mysterious song. He encounters Marie, who is visibly frightened. Marie reveals the presence of an unusually powerful entity capable of damaging the dungeon walls in a way that contradicts the dungeon's usual regenerative abilities.

Marie helps Bell track down Ryuu. Their encounter is brief and to the point: Ryuu, consumed by vengeance, rejects Bell's presence and insists that he—a kind soul from a gentler part of her life—should have no part in this. Though Bell tries to understand her perspective, Ryuu rebuffs him and quickly leaves.

Meanwhile, the rest of Bell's group, on Cassandra's instruction, decides to stay on the 25th floor, believing it crucial for everyone's survival. However, the werewolf Tuerk, who falsely accused Ryuu of murder, insists on searching the floor for her. Bell's group decides to follow Tuerk's team to monitor his actions.

The narrative then returns to Bell, who reunites with Bors' group. They clash with Ryuu as she pursues the last surviving member of the Familia that contributed to her family's destruction. Ryuu skillfully incapacitates anyone who stands in her way, relentlessly chasing her target. Eventually, only Bell, Ryuu, and her quarry remain.

In a tense moment, Ryuu threatens Bell with her wooden sword, demonstrating her willingness to harm even him to achieve her goal. Bell, striving for reconciliation and peace, feels overwhelmed by Ryuu's intense quest for vengeance.
