In the third episode of Dead Mount Death Play, the tragic past of the protagonist is revealed—born with the Evil Eye, an ability to see shadows. After being sold to the court sorcerers, the protagonist becomes a spirit summoner on the battlefield, fighting amidst the decline of an empire. Despite the chaos and bloodshed, there remains a strong desire for peace and tranquility, even if it seems unattainable.

In the here and now, he finds himself in a bewildering situation: reborn in a foreign land, he accidentally kills a girl named Misaki before he can learn anything about this place. Longing for a peaceful life, he first focuses on his own safety before attempting to justify his actions.

Soon after, Misaki's friends arrive with mixed intentions. As the episode reaches its climax, the protagonist demonstrates the extent of his powers by rescuing a group of children from a burning building, showcasing his compassionate side despite his dark past. His actions leave others in the story questioning his motives and morality.

The episode ends with the protagonist forming an alliance with Lisa Kuraki, a mediator in Shinjuku who offers to help him adjust to his new life. As Misaki and Takumi are assigned to assist him, they too become entangled in the web of intrigue surrounding the protagonist.
