Based on the game developed by Hideo Kojima "Death Stranding", a new animated series is being produced. It bears the working title "Death Stranding Isolations". The planned release is scheduled for the year 2027, the streaming service Disney+ Star was named as the exclusive platform.

The plot of the series represents an independent narrative, set in the same universe and at the same time as the game template. While the protagonist Sam Porter Bridges traverses the North American continent, the series follows other, unknown persons - the "Samans". Their individual fates and their efforts to overcome loneliness are depicted.

A first concept artwork was released. It shows two teenagers, a boy and a girl, equipped with items of equipment and gadgets that are also known from the game.

Hideo Kojima himself serves as executive producer of the anime project. The animation work is being handled by the studio E&H Production, which is responsible for works such as "BULLET BULLET" and "NINJA KAMUI". The direction is by Takayuki Sano from this studio. The original character design comes from Ilya Kuvshinov, who is known among other things for the design of the characters in "Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045". The published concept artwork was also created by Ilya Kuvshinov.

The game template "Death Stranding" was released in the year 2019 and is an action-adventure with an open world. The plot takes place in a near future, in which a catastrophic explosion, known as "Death Stranding", devastates the world and extinguishes living beings, which isolates humanity from each other.
