The creators of the TV anime adaptation of the action RPG NieR:Automata recently announced changes to their broadcast schedule. Square Enix and Platinum Games, the driving forces behind this project, have decided to air the remaining four episodes of the series, from Episode 9 to 12, in a single batch on July 23.

Due to disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the production team had to postpone the broadcast of some episodes. Initially, the airing of the fourth episode was delayed from January 28 to February 18. Subsequently, the team had to postpone the planned March broadcast of Episode 9 and beyond, as the surge in COVID-19 cases impacted the production schedule.

Now that the situation is under control, the team has decided to air the final four episodes of the anime all at once.

The plot of the anime series revolves around the androids 2B, 9S, and A2, who are embroiled in a battle to reclaim control of a world overrun by powerful machines. The story is set in a post-apocalyptic scenario where humanity has been driven from Earth by mechanical beings. The remaining human forces deploy a unit of android soldiers in a last-ditch effort to combat these invaders.
