Demon King 2099 releases first promotional video with cyberpunk setting in Shinjuku

The TV anime series "Demon King 2099" has released its first promotional video titled "Electronic Ruined City (Cyberpunk City) Shinjuku."

"Demon King 2099" is set in the year 2099, five centuries after a pivotal historical event, and introduces viewers to the sprawling metropolis of Shinjuku City, now a massive national hub distinguished by its cyberpunk aesthetic. The video showcases the return of the legendary Demon King Beltor, voiced by Satoshi Hino, who reemerges in this technologically advanced urban landscape. Accompanying Beltor is his loyal follower Makina, played by Miku Ito, and Takahashi, a self-proclaimed super-genius and handsome hacker who adds depth to the ensemble.

The promotional spot features intense battle scenes and dynamic interactions between the characters, highlighting the highly dangerous environment of Shinjuku. In the background, a snippet of the opening song "Hollow," performed by Shiyui, plays.

"Demon King 2099" is based on the novel by Shidai Sato and animated by J.C.STAFF. The voice cast includes renowned actors such as Kana Hanazawa, Daisuke Namikawa, Masaya Matsukaze, and Shizuka Ito.
