ProSieben MAXX announces that the anime series "Demon Slayer" ("Kimetsu no Yaiba") by mangaka Koyoharu Gotōge will air on the TV channel by the end of August 2021.
It is planned to broadcast 3 uncut episodes of "Demon Slayer" in German every week on AnimeNight. The first season will thus air every Friday starting August 27, 2021, at around 10:00 PM on ProSieben MAXX.
Gotouge launched the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba manga in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in February 2016. The manga ended in May 2020 and inspired a TV anime, which premiered in Japan in April 2019. The series was continued by the Demon Slayer - Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Train anime film in October 2020. A second season has already been announced (as we reported).
The series is set in Japan's Taisho period. Tanjiro, a kind-hearted boy who sells charcoal for a living, finds his family slaughtered by a demon. To make matters worse, his younger sister Nezuko, the sole survivor, has been turned into a demon herself. Though devastated by this grim reality, Tanjiro resolves to become a "demon slayer" to turn his sister back into a human and kill the demon that massacred his family.
