"Alice and Therese's Illusory Factory" presented exciting new information at the MAPPA Stage 2023 event. Key details about the film were revealed, including the main cast, the premise of the story, a teaser trailer, a teaser image, and the release date.



Directed by Mari Okada, the story revolves around a middle school student named Masamune, who is trapped in a city where time has stood still due to a factory explosion. With all exits sealed, the residents are forced to live in a bleak stasis. However, things begin to change when Masamune meets two girls—one being his enigmatic classmate Atsumi, and the other a silent, wolf-like girl. This chance encounter throws the stagnant world off balance and sparks a wave of change fueled by the pent-up "love impulses" of the youths.

The main roles of the film are played by Junya Enoki as the 14-year-old protagonist Masamune Kikuiri, Reina Ueda as Atsumi Sagami, and Misaki Kuno as the mysterious girl Itsumi.

Alongside the film, Mari Okada is also writing a novel based on the movie, which will hit the shelves in June, several months before the theatrical release.
