Details on the first episode of the third season of "Oshi no Ko"

The production of the third season of the anime series "Oshi no Ko" (【推しの子】) is entering its final phase. A first preview trailer and new information about the opening episode are now available. The series, which is based on the manga of the same name by Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari, continues its complex narrative about the dark sides of the Japanese entertainment industry.

The first episode of the new season is titled "Irekomi" (入れ込み). Direction and storyboard are by Daisuke Hiramaki, while Kanna Hirayama serves as chief animation director. The screenplay was written by Jin Tanaka. The episode title corresponds to the heading of chapter 83 of the underlying manga.

The story begins half a year after the events of the music video "POP IN 2". During this period, the career paths of the main characters have further developed:

- B-Komachi: The newly formed idol group, led by Ruby Hoshino, is on the verge of its big breakthrough, supported by the efforts of MEM-Cho.

- Aquamarine (Aqua) Hoshino: He has developed into a versatile entertainer and continues to pursue his path.

- Akane Kurokawa: Her career as a recognized, talented actress is progressing successfully.

- Kana Arima: A noticeable change is observed in the once lively actress; she has lost her former carefree nature.

- Ruby Hoshino: Her drive remains unbroken. She continues to rise in the entertainment world, driven by the search for the truth behind her mother Ai's death.

The new visual materials for the first episode show a character in an emotionally agitated state, hinting at intense dramatic moments.

The official start of the third season is planned for January 14, 2026. Internationally, the series will be streamed by Crunchyroll in the original language with subtitles. A start date for an English dubbed version has not yet been announced. In Japan, the season will be broadcast on Tokyo MX, among others. Another streaming service, J:COM STREAM, has announced it will make new episodes available weekly starting January 15, 2026.
