Detective Conan - Episode 1128: Conan and Megure's Two Hostages (Part One)

The married couple Wakai Chiaki and Wakai Hayato wait nervously in their minivan with a young hostage, Mimura Kazuo. Hayato is tasked with making a short phone call to demand a ransom of three million yen for Kazuo's safe return. Conan closely observes their behavior and deduces their nervousness and involvement in the kidnapping.

While the kidnappers try to follow their instructions precisely, Conan, who is being held captive alongside Kazuo, notices some crucial details about the minivan and the couple's habits. Chiaki and Hayato's plan seems well thought out, but its execution is flawed, indicating their inexperience in criminal matters.

At some point, Conan manages to switch places with Kazuo, allowing the boy to go out and seek help. Kazuo reaches a security guard, whom he mistakenly believes to be a police officer, and relays Conan's message to contact Detective Takagi from Unit One. Meanwhile, Conan continues gathering important information from inside the van.

Chiaki and Hayato encounter a checkpoint, which they successfully deceive by pretending everything is normal. Conan seizes the opportunity to reveal his true identity and offers his help, concluding that they were forced into the kidnapping because their own son Tetsuya is being held hostage by a third party.
