Kogoro is hired by Arihara Yumeno, a former singer of the band Albarosa, to investigate threatening letters that allude to an unsolved theft of 8 million yen at a charity concert three years ago. While Kogoro investigates in Kanazawa, Conan and Ran split up to sightsee but are followed by an unknown person. Conan is kidnapped by Inami Ryusei, a surfing Albarosa fan who wants to reunite the band members—Domon Kensuke (drums), Tanemura Jotaro (guitar), Kinomoto Yoji (bass), and Yumeno—to solve the theft.

Inami reveals a video showing the thief with a guitar case, pointing to Tanemura. Meanwhile, Kogoro and Yumeno gather Domon and Tanemura at the Hanayakata geisha villa, where old conflicts between the former band members resurface. As Yumeno receives another threatening call, Conan discovers signs of a break-in at Inami’s workshop—someone is searching for the evidence video. The episode culminates in a chase when the car carrying Conan and Inami is sabotaged, and the brakes fail.

The part ends on a cliffhanger: The thief’s identity, Kinomoto’s whereabouts, and the danger to Conan remain unresolved, while the trail of the stolen guitar case hints at a surprising revelation in the second part.
