Kogoro, Conan, and Ran investigate the case of the former band Albarosa after singer Arihara Yumeno receives threatening letters alluding to the unsolved theft of 8 million yen at a charity concert three years ago. Conan, who was kidnapped by Albarosa fan Inami Ryusei, discovers a video showing the thief with a guitar case—apparently band member Tanemura Jotaro. However, Conan notices inconsistencies: The thief carries the case on the left side, even though Tanemura is left-handed.

Meanwhile, Kogoro and Yumeno gather former band members Domon Kensuke (drums) and Tanemura at the Hanayakata geisha villa. Suddenly, bassist Kinomoto Yoji appears and reveals that he sent the threatening letter to Domon to expose the truth about the theft. A rigged car carrying Conan and Ryusei—with sabotaged brakes—exposes Domon as the culprit: Traces of gold foil from Kinomoto’s workshop on Domon’s shoes and the guitar case prove that he staged the theft three years ago to frame Tanemura.

Domon confesses to manipulating the evidence and sabotaging Kinomoto’s car to cover up his guilt. After a chase involving Conan’s skateboard, Domon is arrested. The episode ends with the prospect of a band comeback: Yumeno, Tanemura, and Kinomoto begin rehearsing again, supported by Ryusei as the new drummer. Back in Nagano, Conan, Ran, and Kogoro enjoy regional delicacies as Domon’s crimes finally bring closure to the band’s troubled past.
