The Detective Boys travel to Ishinomaki in Miyagi Prefecture after Ayumi, Mitsuhiko, and Genta win participation in the filming of a new "Kamen Yaiba" movie. During their stay, Ayumi coincidentally encounters Inspector Chiba, who is investigating undercover to solve a case of stolen, valuable merchandise items that are to be sold abroad. Ayumi witnesses this situation and is captured together with Chiba by the criminals and abducted in a delivery truck.

Conan and the other Detective Boys notice Ayumi's disappearance and immediately set out to search. Using QR codes attached to monuments in the city and the descriptions of the large murals that Ayumi and Chiba can see from the delivery truck, they manage to determine the location of the delivery truck. They follow the trail to the Ishinomaki fishing port, where they free Ayumi and Chiba and can arrest the perpetrators, including the production assistant Kanehara. The case is solved, and the Detective Boys can finally still film their appearance in the "Kamen Yaiba" movie.
