Digimon Adventure 02 The Beginning reveals new trailer, poster and cast details

As part of the "Digi Fes 2023" event, a new trailer and poster for "Digimon Adventure 02 The Beginning," the upcoming film in the "Digimon Adventure 02" anime series, were revealed. The trailer features the original opening song "Target Akai Shōgeki" by Kouji Wada, a detail that may evoke nostalgic feelings among fans of the series. The film is set to premiere on October 27 in Japan.



The plot of the film is set in February 2012 and serves as a continuation of the stories from the "Digimon Adventure tri." anime and the "Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna" anime. This time, Daisuke Motomiya takes center stage, along with other main characters who are now 20 years old.

Several cast members from previous iterations return to their roles, including Fukujurō Katayama as Daisuke Motomiya, Junko Noda as V-Mon, Arthur Lounsbery as Ken Ichijōji, and others. The film will also introduce some new faces: Megumi Ogata will portray Rui Ōwada, a mysterious boy, and Rie Kugimiya will voice Ukkomon, a Digimon crucial to the story's development.

Tomohisa Taguchi will direct the film, while Akatsuki Yamatoya writes the script. Yumeta Company will handle the animation, and Toei Animation is in charge of production. The team aims to place the characters from "Digimon Adventure 02" at the heart of the film and highlight their unique appeal compared to their predecessors from the first "Digimon Adventure" TV anime.
