A new animated short film titled "Digimon Story: Time Stranger Prelude" has been made available on the official YouTube channel of Bandai Namco Entertainment. This prequel sheds light on events that were only hinted at in the main game of the development environment "Digimon Story: Time Stranger".

The plot focuses on Yūta, the brother of the main character Inori, and his encounter with Revolmon. The viewer gains insight into the previously unknown battles of these two characters. The direction is handled by Kimura Taku, who has previously worked on various animation projects such as a short film production of the Pocket Monsters series and a contribution to the series Star Wars: Visions.

A special marketing campaign was initiated for the release of the short film. Via the official communication channels of the Digimon games, interested parties can participate in a giveaway where hand-signed script pages of the voice actors are awarded. The campaign involves the voice actors Tamura Mutsumi (Yūta), Ichinose Kana (Inori), and Nakamura Yūichi (Revolmon). The application procedure remains open for a limited time.
