The streaming service Disney+ has expanded its anime offering with two titles. In addition to a current simulcast title, a classic of anime history is now available in the catalog.

Since July 8, 2026, the third season of "Naruto" has been available on the platform. The 57-episode season is available both in German dubbing and in the original Japanese with German subtitles. This brings the total number of episodes from the original series available on Disney+ to 163 out of 220. The first two seasons of the ninja epic had already been added to the catalog previously.

At the same time, Disney+ has added the fantasy series "Though I Am an Inept Villainess" as a simulcast. New episodes are released every Sunday at 5:45 PM – simultaneously with the Japanese TV broadcast. The series is streamed in the original Japanese with German subtitles and is also available on Prime Video and Crunchyroll.

The plot of "Though I Am an Inept Villainess" revolves around the court lady Reirin, who swaps bodies with her rival Keigetsu through an intrigue. Branded as a traitor, she must fight for her survival at the imperial court while trying to bring the truth to light.

With these new additions, Disney+ underscores its ambitions to continuously expand its anime offering. The service has recently licensed multiple new titles, including extensive catalog series such as "Dragon Ball Super" and "Bleach." The partnership with Japanese publishers like Kodansha and Shueisha, as well as the simulcast strategy, show that Disney+ aims to further solidify its position in the growing anime market.
