In the coming January, fans of the popular anime series will be provided with news regarding "Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei" (The Irregular at Magic High School). Planned are a broadcast of a movie as well as the repeat of a previous television season.

The planned television broadcast concerns the movie "Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei: Hoshi o Yobu Shoujo" (The Irregular at Magic High School: The Girl Who Summons the Stars). The plot of the film from the year 2017 begins after the end of the first school year of the siblings Tatsuya and Miyuki Shiba. During a spring break stay at a villa on the Ogasawara Islands, they meet a young girl named Kūa, who has fled from a naval base and asks Tatsuya for help.

Parallel to the movie broadcast, the third season of the main series will also be seen again on television
. This season, which originally aired in the year 2024, continues the story of the Shiba siblings, who have enrolled in the newly established Magic Engineering Science course (colloquially "Magic Engineer Class").

The anime series is based on the identically named, over 25 million times sold light novel series by Tsutomu Satō. It is set in a technologically advanced year 2096, in which magic is considered an established science, and follows the as "Untalented" classified Tatsuya and his highly gifted sister Miyuki. The announcements also serve the anticipation for the new movie announced for 2026 "Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei: Yotsuba Keishou-hen" (The Irregular at Magic High School: The Yotsuba Succession Arc).
