To escape the relentless pursuit by Stanley and his fighter jet, time is pressing for Senku and the Kingdom of Science. Their plan is to reach the protective tree canopy of the Amazon rainforest, which lies beyond a deep ravine. To cross it, they hastily construct a cable car. However, the crossing is complicated by a strict weight limit, requiring precise planning of the groups of people. This situation resembles a classic river crossing puzzle, as some characters like Xeno and Hyoga cannot be left unsupervised due to their past conflicts. Senku makes a pragmatic decision and takes the risk to save valuable time. Ultimately, the crossing succeeds, representing an important proof of trust within the team.

Upon arriving in the Amazon, they immediately face new life-threatening dangers: dangerous insects and parasites. The team responds with scientific innovations: They manufacture rubber boots, Xeno develops an insect repellent, and Senku extracts a secretion from army ants, whose deterrent effect keeps other animals away. Strengthened by these creations, they reach the Amazon River and continue their journey to the suspected origin point of the petrification. The search, however, is short-lived, as they quickly come across a petrification device. This immediate discovery, however, raises the disturbing possibility that not just one, but several of these devices might be lurking there, revealing the true scale of the impending threat.
