"Dragon Ball DAIMA" celebrates the franchise's 40th anniversary with new characters and trailers

The anime series "Dragon Ball DAIMA," based on the original work by Akira Toriyama, recently unveiled new character illustrations drawn by Toriyama himself, along with the latest trailer. In a surprising twist, familiar characters like Goku and Krillin appear significantly younger, alongside other miniaturized favorites such as Mr. Satan, Android 18, Chi-Chi, and Majin Buu. These designs are part of the highly anticipated project celebrating the 40th anniversary of "DRAGON BALL," set to release worldwide in fall 2024.

"Dragon Ball DAIMA" introduces these well-known characters, who have mysteriously shrunk, alongside brand-new characters making their debut. The latest promotional video captures the dynamic essence of these characters and promises an exciting new chapter in the Dragon Ball saga.

"DRAGON BALL" has been a monumental franchise since its publication in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha) in 1984, spanning over a decade. With over 260 million copies sold worldwide, the series has expanded into various media, including TV anime, movies, and games. Following the success of theatrical films, including the revival after 17 years in 2013 and the release of "Dragon Ball Super" in 2015, the franchise is once again expanding with the release of the movie "Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero" in 2022.
