In Episode 16, Goku consults with his companions—while Piccolo and Shin vehemently urge the rescue of Dende—and the group sets off for Gomah’s castle. There, they first encounter the gendarmerie, led by Kadem; Vegeta defeats three soldiers, prompting Kadem to regroup and prepare a powerful counterattack, until Goku’s team manages to capture the gendarmerie.

Inside the castle, the search begins: While Goku, Piccolo, Vegeta, and Shin focus on Dende, a mysterious woman—who has taken the Oculus of Hybis—wanders aimlessly through the halls, futilely asking about Degesu’s whereabouts. When the group reaches another door, Bulma voices her concern about standing out too much, leading Goku to suggest splitting up; Panzy soon switches from Kadem’s squad to Goku’s team.

Suddenly, Degesu notices something from the window, seizes the opportunity, and kidnaps Dende—which Goku can sense as his Ki reaches him. Vegeta, Shin, and Piccolo give chase, while Degesu—threatening Dende with a weapon—declares his desire to become the Demon Realm’s king and claims that all Glinds strive for higher rank. In the heated battle, Panzy tries to stop Degesu, but when Glorio unexpectedly throws Hybis’ hat at him, Degesu loses his grip on Dende, whom Panzy hurriedly tries to secure; Piccolo then knocks him unconscious, while Glorio and Hybis reveal themselves to the group.

Meanwhile, Gomah observes the events from afar, wondering if Degesu will abandon him. Shortly after, the employed woman hands the Oculus to Gomah, who is in the midst of a transformation, while several authorities take Degesu into custody. Glorio informs the heroes that before confronting Gomah, they must face Tamagami Number One (One) and state their wish—a hint that someone has claimed his Dragon Ball.

In a meeting with One, Arinsu, Kuu, and Duu finally join the group, announcing that they possess One’s Dragon Ball. The episode ends with a dramatic close-up of Gomah’s face.
