Crunchyroll and Toei Animation announced that the upcoming Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie will be released worldwide in August in both dubbing and subtitling. The film will be distributed by Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures.



Crunchyroll describes the film as follows:

The Red Ribbon Army was once destroyed by Son Goku. Individuals who continue their spirit have created the ultimate androids, Gamma 1 and Gamma 2. These two androids call themselves "superheroes". They start attacking Piccolo and Gohan... What is the aim of the New Red Ribbon Army? With danger approaching, it's time to wake up, superhero!

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is the second film to be released for the Dragon Ball: Super series and the 21st. Original series creator Akira Toriyama is responsible for the script and character designs.

Tetsuro Kodama is directing the film and Naoki Satō is composing the music. Nobuhito Sue is the art director, Chikashi Kubota is the animation director, and Jae Hoon Jung is the CG director.
