Toei Animation has unveiled the first trailer for Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, the second anime film in the Dragon Ball Super series, at New York Comic Con today. The trailer also offers a glimpse of the new CG animation style and the newly announced characters Gamma 1 and 2.
The film is set to hit theaters in Japan in 2022 and will be the 21st movie in the entire Dragon Ball series.
One scene in the video also briefly shows that Broly, the antagonist of the 20th film, will be making a return. The film appears to revolve around a new, sinister organization working behind the scenes and plotting something (this is likely the Red Ribbon Army). Chronologically, the new film probably takes place several years after the last installment. However, more detailed information about the film's plot is not yet known.
