The June issue of Shueisha's Saikyō Jump magazine announced that Yoshikazu Amami's spinoff manga Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibōken: Xross Blade will enter its final phase in the magazine's July issue, which will be released on June 2.
Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibōken: Xross Blade tells the story of Yūki Shiroi, a boy who wants to become a hero but lacks the innate abilities to do so. When he attempts to rescue a beautiful girl named Meiro, Yūki is transported to another world, where he finds himself battling a slime. The appearance of Dai marks the beginning of a journey that brings the two characters closer together.
Yoshikazu Amami launched the manga in Saikyō Jump in October 2020, and Shueisha released the fifth compiled volume on April 4.
The original Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai manga, consisting of 37 volumes, was serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from 1989 to 1996.
