Egao no taenai shokuba desu. -TV anime adaptation announced

The manga series Egao no Taenai Shokuba desu. by Kuzushiro is being adapted into an anime series, set to begin airing in October. Official information about the cast, production team, as well as a first teaser visual and teaser video have been released.

The humorous "Working Girls Comedy" follows young manga artist Nana Futami, whose lack of self-confidence contrasts with her artistic talent. Supported by her level-headed editor Kaede Satō and reliable assistant Mizuki Mamiya, she works on a shōgi manga—accompanied by quirky everyday situations and occasional daydreams. The role of Nana Futami is voiced by Yūko Natsuyoshi, while Sora Amamiya (Kaede Satō) and Miku Itō (Mizuki Mamiya) portray other key characters.

Director Kaoru Suzuki, screenwriter Mio Inoue, character designer Kana Miyai, and sound director Ryō Tanaka are responsible for the creative adaptation. The teaser video also offers a first glimpse of the characters' voices.

Additionally, statements from the involved artists and a collaborative illustration were shared on the project's official X account: Kuzushiro designed decorative frame elements, while Natsuyoshi drew the central characters.
