Revealing "SAND LAND: THE SERIES" - A journey through duality and adventure

The anime series "SAND LAND: THE SERIES," based on the original work by Akira Toriyama, has revealed its key visual, trailer, as well as the opening and ending themes. The anime series, which will premiere worldwide exclusively on Disney Plus starting March 20, 2024, enriches the story with previously unreleased scenes and new content. The plot consists of two distinct chapters: "The Demon Prince," which reinterprets the 2023 summer film "SAND LAND" and expands it with new scenes, and "The Heroic Angel," a continuation of the film that Toriyama conceived over two decades.

The key visual for "SAND LAND: THE SERIES" features a trio—Beelzebub, Rao, and Thief—speeding through the terrain in a jeep, alongside central figures from the chapters "The Demon Prince" and "The Heroic Angel." The climax of the trailer introduces viewers to the lush landscape of Forestland in the new chapter "The Heroic Angel," where Beelzebub encounters Munielle, a wingless angel, and Ann, a mysterious girl who can ride a bicycle. Both characters are voiced by Ayumu Murase and Mikako Komatsu.

With the opening theme "Water Carrier" by Kroi and the ending theme "Drive My Idea" by Tempalay, the series promises to deliver an exciting adventure.

"SAND LAND" was first serialized in 2000 in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump and tells an adventure story set in a desert world struggling with water scarcity. The story follows Beelzebub, the Prince of Demons; Rao, a sheriff with a strong sense of justice; and Thief, a vigilant demon, as they search for the mythical water source.
