Epic showdown: "Baki Hanma vs. Kengan Ashura" film to be released on Netflix

A new film titled "Baki Hanma vs. Kengan Ashura," which represents a unique collaboration between two popular fighting anime series, has been officially announced. This announcement, set to be released worldwide exclusively on Netflix on June 6, has sparked great excitement in the anime community.

The groundwork for this crossover was laid back in 2020 when Netflix, which streams both "Baki" and "Kengan Ashura," showcased a collaborative artwork featuring characters from both series. This initiative continued in 2021 with the release of a tribute manga in the 30th anniversary issue of Weekly Shonen Champion, celebrating the "Baki" series with a special crossover featuring "Kengan Omega," further heightening anticipation for the film.

"Baki Hanma vs. Kengan Ashura" promises an exciting story where characters from Keisuke Itagaki's "Baki" series face off against those from Sandrovich Yabako and Daromeon's "Kengan Ashura" series. Fans of both series have already seen teaser graphics and a preview trailer, fueling excitement for the upcoming showdown. The film will feature Nobunaga Shimazaki reprising his role as Baki Hanma and Tatsuhisa Suzuki as Tokita Ohma, ensuring the characters retain their familiar voices.

The "Baki" series, currently serialized in Weekly Shonen Champion, follows the underground arena's youngest champion, Baki, and his battles against various fighters, including his father Yujiro, known as "the strongest creature on Earth." On the other hand, "Kengan Ashura" revolves around corporate gladiator battles fought by hired fighters. The story begins when Kazuo Yamashita, an ordinary salaryman, encounters the mysterious fighter Tokita Ohma.
