"Etoile Blossoming in Paris": New Insight into the Anime Film by Goro Taniguchi

An extended preview video has been released for the upcoming original anime film "L'étoile de Paris en fleur" (Japanese title: "Paris ni Saku Étoile," English title: "Etoile Blossoming in Paris"). The production by animation studio Arvo Animation transports the audience to early 20th century Paris and tells the story of two young women with grand artistic dreams.

The focus is on two Japanese women: Fujiko, who dreams of a career as a painter, and Chizuru, who, despite her mastery of a traditional martial art, feels drawn to ballet. The footage shows their journey from a first encounter in Yokohama to their fateful reunion in the French capital. The trailer offers glimpses into the relationships with supporting characters who aid them on their path and features scenes of various Parisian landmarks.

The film's theatrical release is scheduled for March 2026. The direction is handled by Goro Taniguchi, who serves as both director and creator of the original story. Character design is by Katsuya Kondou. The main roles are voiced by Ami Toma and Rina Arashi, who makes her debut as a voice actress.

Further information about the staff includes screenwriter Reiko Yoshida and composer Takayuki Hattori. Additionally, it was recently announced that the Japanese band Ryokuoushoku Shakai will contribute the theme song "Kaze ni Noru" for the film.
