Evil Leaf - Episode 1

In the distant era of Anno Donatio, an empire entrusted 14 warriors with sacred weapons to fend off a looming threat from the land of Wischtech. Yet only seven were celebrated as heroes, while four were mysteriously branded as traitors. Two decades later, a wandering swordsman named Köinzell appears, wielding extraordinary abilities and an unspoken goal tied to these legendary figures.

The episode begins with social unrest, as border patrol monks enforce harsh measures against anyone attempting to enter the territory of the so-called "Seven Heroes." A young girl named Peepi nearly falls victim to them but is rescued by Köinzell and an opportunistic smuggling group led by Altea. Bribery and cruelty define the monks' rule over hopeful travelers seeking a better life beyond the border.

Köinzell displays remarkable combat skills against the monastery's fighters, leaving them in confusion and awe. In search of a hidden passage, he joins the travelers Wied and Altea, who guide him through an underground labyrinth once utilized by Wischtech's magic. There, the group encounters a sinister monster lurking in the tunnels. Though it overwhelms most of them, Köinzell's unique strength proves decisive.
