For the anime series "That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime" (Japanese original title: Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken), the production of a fourth season has been confirmed. This new chapter is conceived as a particularly extensive project, spanning five consecutive cours.

The beginning of this long narrative is planned for April 2026. The first two parts of the season will be released directly one after the other.

The announcement was made as part of a special live stream through a newly produced video. The plot of the fourth season will focus on the protagonist Rimuru's efforts to establish a coexistence sphere for humans and monsters. This ambitious plan, often referred to as "human-monster coexistence," however, encounters significant resistance. Various powers, including especially the former hero Granbell Rosso and his granddaughter from the Kingdom of Sarion, view Rimuru's growing influence as a threat. In parallel, the Demon King Leon begins his own maneuvers in the distant city of El Dorado, leading to a complex conflict of various interests.

Even before the start of the TV season, a new movie will appear. "That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: The Movie – Scarlet Bond" (Japanese title: Gekijōban Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken: Sōkai no Namida Hen) is announced for February 27, 2026. The plot of this film was conceived as an original story by the series creator Fuse.

The animation studio 8bit continues the production of the series. The underlying light novel series is by author Fuse, while the manga adaptation is drawn by Taiki Kawakami. The franchise has reached a total circulation of over 56 million copies worldwide with its print publications.
