The upcoming anime series Kizetsu Yūsha to Ansatsu Hime – The Fainting Hero and the Assassin Princesses has revealed its first official key visual. The illustration shows the three assassins Ciel, Anemone, and Gore in a battle-ready pose, while hinting at a silent conspiracy with a "shhh" gesture to the viewer.
The story follows the extremely shy hero Toto, who fails even at finding companions for an adventurer team. Three mysterious women eventually offer him a group – however, with the plan to kill him at an opportune moment. The result is a darkly humorous mix of harem comedy and contract killing satire.
The source material is the ongoing manga by author Norishiro-chan and artist Yukiji Setsuda, which has been serialized in Weekly Shōnen Champion since 2022 and currently spans eleven collected volumes.
Studio Connect is responsible for the anime adaptation. Direction is handled by Noriaki Akitaya, the series composition is by Michiko Yokote, character designs are crafted by Takao Sano, while Shun Narita composes the music.
The series is scheduled to premiere in summer 2025 in Japan; further details will be announced at a later date.
