First key visual and teaser for [i]Eisen Flügel[/i] revealed: Flight sequences and epic dragon encounter

At the Anime Expo 2025 in Los Angeles, the first official materials for the movie Eisen Flügel were presented after a wait of over two and a half years. During the A-1 Pictures 20th Anniversary Industry Panel on July 4th, a key visual and a teaser were shown to the public for the first time. The revelations sparked enthusiastic reactions from the attending fans, after provisional information about the project had last been announced in 2022.

The new key visual shows the protagonist Karl Schnitz in a dramatic confrontation with a dragon and emphasizes the mystical atmosphere of the fantasy setting. The illustration was realized under the direction of character designer Kōki Itō. The accompanying teaser features scenes from the film and captures the intense flight sequences of Karl's air force unit. Set to music by Yuki Kajiura, known from Fate/Zero, the video shows airplanes approaching a dragon-like silhouette—a preview of the central conflict between advanced technology and mythical creatures.

Eisen Flügel is based on the 2009 novel by Gen Urobuchi and combines military action with fantastical elements. The world of the film is defined by an era in which giant dragons dominate the sky. The creative team behind the project brings together renowned names such as Seiji Mizushima as overall director (Fullmetal Alchemist), Dai Konmada as director, Takashi Takeuchi for the character concept (known for the Fate series), Yuki Kajiura for the music, and Kōki Itō as character designer. The animation is produced by A-1 Pictures (Sword Art Online), while Aniplex is responsible for distribution.
