The production of the television anime "Tamon-kun Ima Docchi!?" (English title: Tamon's B-Side) has reached an important milestone: the first promo video has now been officially released. The adaptation of the popular shojo manga by Yuki Shiwasz thus announces itself visually and musically.
The video provides insights into the first encounter of high school student Utage Kinoshita with her idol Tamon Fukuhara. Utage, voiced by Saori Hayami, works a part-time job at a domestic service and is assigned the superstar as a client. To her surprise, however, she must realize that the idol's public persona – confident, sexy, and wild – is a facade. Behind the scenes, Tamon (voice: Kakeru Hatano) turns out to be an extremely pessimistic and insecure youth. Despite this shock, Utage unwaveringly stands by him and supports him.
Musically, the promo video is accompanied by the new song "Supernova", which comes from the fictional idol group F/ACE from the series. This title is part of the group's second single, "F/ACE OFF", which is scheduled for release on October 20, 2025.
In addition to the video, another special starts on September 24: the fourth episode of a special voice drama series. The A-side talk "F/ACE Liner Talk" with the characters Tamon and Rintaro Kai (voice: Ryūho Nagaoka) will be available to listen to on the anime's official platforms. A supplementary B-side with a reflection on the conversation will follow on the audio platform Kikigatari.
The plot of "Tamon-kun Ima Docchi!?" revolves around the dynamic relationship between the enthusiastic fan character Utage and the complex idol Tamon. The romantic comedy explores the discrepancy between public image and private identity. The anime adaptation is being produced under the direction of Chika Nagaoka at Studio J.C.Staff.
