A full-length teaser has been released on the Urusei Yatsura official website. The year-long series (four seasons) will adapt select stories from the original manga. It will premiere in October of this year in the program block noitaminA. The anime's release coincides with the 100th anniversary of Shogakukan Publishing.



Joining the cast of Urusei Yatsura is Wataru Takagi as Cherry. Miyuki Sawashiro was also introduced as the voice of Sakura.

Rumiko Takahashi serialized the sci-fi romantic comedy in Weekly Shounen Sunday from 1978 to 1987, compiling it into 35 volumes. The 195-episode first anime series produced by Pierrot and Deen Studios aired from October 1981 to March 1986. It has also produced 6 anime films and 11 OVA episodes.
